First you want to find a set of images you are interested in turning into brushes. It can be anything you want, I'm just going to grab some things I made. You want to open up the image(s) all in Paint Shop Pro 9. You want to chose a selection tool (preferably the box or circle) and select what you want as your first brush. After you have selected what you want, go over to the brush tool (little blue paint brush on left tool bar) and click it.
Next there should now be a toolbar that has appeared above, and you want to look for a little box with an arrow (see picture 3). After you have click this a drop down box will appear with all your current brushes. You now want to look for a icon that is a blue brush with a selection box around it; this can be found in the bottom right corner of the drop down box (see picture 4).
When you click this button a box will appear (also seen in picture 4). You now want to name your brush, and if you want (but you don't HAVE to) you can fill in the other fields; author, copyright, and description. When done filling out the input fields just click the 'OK' button, and you have created your first brush!
Remember to test it out. Just open a new image, go into your brushes, find your brush, and have fun! To continue added more brushes just follow the above steps.
I hope this was helpful and will further your Paint Shop Pro experience; I know it did for me!
